BOOKY BOGO : All Day Meals for Less than 500 Pesos per Person

For less than Php500, we were able to have breakfast, lunch and dinner plus more!

After trying-out what Booky’s Bogo using their Php1,000 worth of savings (please check-out previous blog here), we decided to challenge ourselves again - All Day Meals using Booky’s BOGO. And to our surprise, we didn’t just succeed to cover Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner, we were able to have milk tea and coffee 🙂 . This time we used my friend’s account since mine was already fully used-up.

Same as before, we hit the gym early in the morning at SM Megamall and started our delicious journey for the day.

Breakfast: Kenny Rogers Roasters
Price: Php140
Offer: Kani and Mango Salad
Description: Romaine lettuce, tomato carrots, white onion strips, ripe mangoes, kani and sesame dressing
Location: UG/F SM Megamall, Building A

Perfect after-workout meal! All the ingredients were fresh and freshly cut, especially because we ordered it before the mall opens 🙂

Pro tip : Kenny Rogers Roasters in SM Megamall opens as early as 6:00 am. If you are a member of one of the fitness center there, you might want to visit them for breakfast since they have a lot of healthy offers.

Lunch: Sunnies Cafe
Price: Php280
Offer: Pork Bowl
Description: Crispy glazed pork belly, soy egg, scallion brown rice, homemade pickles
Location: 2/F SM Megamall, Bridgeway

We already tried Sunnies Cafe before and we never go back, until this time. Mainly because their food are pricey. The taste of their food is good but not good for the price, and serving is not that generous to compensate.

But this time, we are happy for the price that we paid since we were able to get a buy 1 get 1 deal. I realized, Booky could really help some of us with this kind of dilemma.

Merienda: Gong Cha
Price: Php90
Offer: Banana Milk
Description: Fruit-based drink added with banana syrup and plant-based creamer
Location: 2/F SM Megamall, Atrium

I could say that Gong Cha was the most awaited item on our list. We were set to avail the Gong Cha Milk Brown Sugar, which was beautifully advertised on their social media, it really looks delicious as if you could taste it just by staring at its photo. But unfortunately, it was sold-out that day 😦 . Which brought our expectation really low, we rather chose the Banana Milk. And since our expectations were already muted, we were surprised! It doesn’t look instagrammable but it tastes good, it tastes real and no hint of artificial banana 🙂

Dinner: Max’s Restaurant
Price: Php169
Offer: Chicken Sisig Rice Bowl with Sago’t Gulaman
Description: A generous serving of chicken sisig with special sauce. Served with a sunny side up egg and topped with green chilis. Max’s classic sago’t gulaman.
Location: 3/F SM Megamall, Building A

This is the most “sulit” of all the meals we had that day. Rice+Ulam+Egg+Drink for Php84.50 per person. A deliciously cooked and complete meal cheaper than the fast food price point. What more can we ask for? Just thank you, Booky!

Coffee: Nitro7 Coffee and Tea Bar
Price: Php135
Offer: Large Chocolate Macadamia
Description: Nitro Cold Brew coffee with chocolate and macadamia syrup
Location: 4/F SM Megamall, Building B

And to end the day, we again hang-out for coffee. This is our first time to try Nitro7 and we are now a regular customer 🙂 Their coffee is the kind of coffee that is true to itself – BOLD and STRONG. You’ll definitely get the kick that you are looking for when drinking coffee.

We spent a total of Php814 or Php407 per person for a full day meal plus milk tea and coffee. Now, we are not just thinking, we are definitely availing Booky Prime Membership.

Try it for yourself too! Trying-out Booky app won’t hurt, specially with their free trial that comes with Php1,000 worth savings.

Buy 1 Get 1 : We Tried Booky’s BOGO

So we tried Booky’s free trial that comes with Php1,000 worth of savings.

It was August 27 – Holiday, Monday and Payday was so near yet so far but cravings was so strong. So me and my friend came up with a very creative way to spend the day. We download the Booky app and signed-up for free trial. We’ve decided to spend the Php1,000 worth of coupons on Buy One Get One (BOGO) so it would be easier for the two of us to split the bills.

We started the day with light breakfast at home, hit the gym (Firness First) at SM Megamall and spend the rest of the day trying out the following:

Pure Nectar

Price: Php150
Offer: Berry or Orange Passion Fruit
Description: Choose between Berry Passion (mix of strawberry & passion fruit) and Orange Passion (mix of orange & passion fruit)
Location: LG/F SM Megamall Building A, Food Court

Perfect drink before or after work-out. They are accommodating enough to let us have each of the flavors.

Price: Php440
Offer: Truffled Mushroom Cream & Bacon Pasta with Bottomless Iced Tea
Description: Truffle pasta with mushroom cream topped with bacon and mushroom slices. Served with a bottomless Iced Tea
Location: G/F SM Mega Fashion Hall

This one tastes great. Serving is pretty generous for one person plus the bottomless Iced Tea! Although I can’t seem to find my self ordering it on a regular price, quite pricey for me. Yay for BOGO! 🙂

The Lost Bread

Price: Php149
Offer: Sorbe-Toasts
Description: Creamy soft-serve ice cream with your choice of toppings. Served on a bed of warm brioche french toast cubes. Flavors to choose from – Chocolate Caramel, Chocolate Popcorn, Strawberry Fruit Cereal
Location: 4/F Mega Fashion Hall

Love how beautiful they serve everything at The Lost Bread. We figured ice cream is the best dessert to clean our palate from the sumptuous pasta that we had for lunch. And we were right except for the french toast that comes with it that may turn out quite heavy for a dessert. You might want to skip it if you had rice meal.

Krispy Kreme

Price: Php129
Offer: Original Glazed Doughnut and Medium Signature Coffee Combo
Description: Krispy Kreme’s original glazed doughnut with their signature coffee
Location: UG/F SM Megamall Building B

After strolling and running some errands, we figured we were still full from what we had for lunch. So we decided to just have coffee and hang-out. Perfect to cap the day.

Tim Ho Wan

Price: Php90
Offer: Deep Fried Milk Custard (3pcs)
Description: Deep fried milk custard encased in a batter (rolled)
Location: G/F Mega Fashion Hall

Since we still have remaining coupons to spend, we bought a couple of take-outs either for midnight munching or baon for the next day.

Brownies Unlimited

Price: Php32
Offer: Cheese Cake Swirl
Description: Red Velvet Brownie with Cream Cheese Swirl
Location: 3/F SM Megamall Building A

This one is a take-out too! We had it for breakfast the next morning.

Total Price we’ve spent was Php990, super worth it for a whole day of fun with your friend, plus the yummy take-outs!

Coffee Project: A picturesque café

“Instagram-able” was the first word that pop into my mind as soon as I stepped into Coffee Project at Worldwide Corporate Center along Shaw Boulevard. This place will instantly capture the coffee-shop-lover in you! After all, it has everything we are looking for a café - great coffee, good food, fast WiFi and a very nice ambiance.

FOOD 💎💎💎💎💎

Their coffee taste great, and sells within the average price point

The wide range of their food menu impressed me, they offer cakes and pastries, breakfast meals, pasta, salads and sandwiches. Look like a full restaurant menu.

Here’s what I’ve tried so far:

Beef Tapa (Php235)
Carbonara (Php195)
White Mocha (Hot), Caramel Vanilla Frappe, Banana Bread and Triple Chocolate Cake

PRICE 💎💎💎💎

I believe their price range is pretty good compare to other cafés considering their generous serving size.

The service is the usual 10-15 minutes serving time. But I love how they print the WiFi password along with the receipt of your order, no need for you to ask!

WiFi speed is pretty fast considering the fact that we’ve been there during peak hours. However, access is limited to upto 2 hours only.

Their artistic interior is perfect for persons that are into creative writing, content creation or book reading. The ambiance is homey and relax but at the same time modern, that makes it suitable for meetings, get-together, studying and de-stressing. And even though most of the times they are fully occupied, it never feel cramped.

Overall, I could say that visiting this place is a must! So go ahead, take a sip of their coffee and take your insta-wothy selfie! Their 24hour service also make them stand-out among the others.

55 Pesos Menu of #Pound by Todd English

So, we tried the one-dollar or 55 pesos menu of #Pound by Todd Enlgish in Megamall Fashion Hall, without so much expectation (because of the price), but to our surprise we were delighted to everything we ordered!

The serving was of course, smaller than the regular. What amazes us is that the quality, flavor and taste is no less than superb!

Here is a peak on what’s in their menu:

TE Slider Burger
Tomato Cream Pasta
OMG Chocolate Milk Shake
Onion Cube
Truffle Ketchup Fries

Sulok Café : A place to Dine and Relax

In today’s age of coffee lovers and foodie, everyone is flocking to almost every known coffee shops you could name. Either to hang-out with friends, catch-up with “Titas of Manila”, study, write blogs, do business matters or just enjoy a sip of coffee.

This is definitely a good thing for the food industry. But sometimes, we missed those days when we go to a place where can dine and relax at the same time to help us cultivate ideas or simply take a serene moment with ourselves. I, personally continuously in search for those kind of places which Sulok Café offers.

Me and my business partner went to Sulok Café last August 3, 2018 with the intention of just trying out their food. At that time we need to do some paper works since we are heading for a business meeting within the area and haven’t had dinner, so we thought “Why not try Sulok Café”.

Upon entering, their order counter will welcome you with their menu written in black board. The over-all set-up invites homey and laid back mood, but to our surprise their menu is comparable to a restaurant, quite a wide range for a café.

We were able to try the following:

Tuyo Mushroom Pasta (Php 170.00) – According to the barrista / waiter at that time, it is their best seller for pasta. It is basically olive oil, garlic, mushroom and tuyo. Kind of an Aglio Olio with tuyo. For a pasta lover like me, this might not taste as good as a Class A Italian Resto, but I can guarantee that it will not fail to satisfy your cravings! Plus considering their price, it’s a value for money.

Pro Tip: They only serve oil based pasta

Adobo Flakes Rice Bowl (Php 110.00) – This one is their best seller for rice bowls. From it’s name, it is a pork flakes cooked adobo style, but with a hint of tapa flavor and topped with sunny-side-up egg. I could say that this one is good as it doesn’t give you a dry texture, which mostly is the problem with other restaurants. The price is great considering the big serving.

Chocnut Frappe (Php 140.00) – I love how you could taste the chocnut flavor in every sip. Not too sweet and really taste what it should be chocnut! Hurray from my 90’s kid heart!

Chocolate Frappe (Php 120.00) – This frappe is also true to itself, the whole experience taste like chocolate and not too sweet. Also, we are not sure if I’m just carried away by the Chocnut Frappe, but it resembles the taste of chocolate drink that we used to bring as “baon” during elementary days, like Magnolia Chocolait or Selecta Moo.

Other than their food, we enjoyed how quiet and cozy their place was. I was able to concentrate in what I needed to do and finished in no time. Their Wifi is also good since the place is not crowded.

Overall, the service was good, the food was delicious and the experience was great. Will definitely be going back with the hope that their coffee based frappes will be available by then 🙂 So excited to try other dishes too!

Sulok Café is located at 2F, Okinari Arcade, L. Sumulong Memorial Circle, Brgy. San Roque, Antipolo City
